Businesses ranging from small to large corporations are spending thousands to develop websites for e-commerce or just as a form of media to attract new businesses. Development of an attractive and informative website can easily cost US$5000 and above. The need to own a website seems to be the top of most business' priority.

A strategic move to reach out to the local masses and also the global billions has caused many to rethink what websites can do for their businesses.

One strategic thought that business owners or strategic decision makers have is: "Have a website, then people will know us and new businesses will come". This is definitely a hopeful thought, but it is definitely a myth.

SEO is one of the power behind Internet Marketing or Business. The methods to attract traffic to your website are numerous. Shi and I choose to focus on Search Engine Optimization. Through this, we have quite a few who have found us on the website and got themselves registered for our SEO Web Design workshop.

A couple of days back, I received an email of someone who wants to train others to SEO their websites within a day. He also boasts of over 100 keywords with top ranking for those keywords searched.... there were screenshots of the search, but the search results were not displayed in full... My first impression of such a sales page was not good. I wondered if this person was genuine about his expertise and also about his service.

To have a very comprehensive understanding about SEO, it cannot be grasped within one day of workshop. With a one-day workshop, you may just be basically scraping the surface of SEO. Through our experience, there are so much to learn and implement. SEO is definitely not something simple to grasp and implement, if you are new to the subject. It takes quite a lot of effort to get it done well to achieve the ranking you desire.

SEO is not that simple... but if you want it badly then you need to start learning and implement a bit at a time.

Meeting With An Internet Marketing Guru

I was alerted to Richard Quek's visit just before New Year's Day. On 2 January 2007, he came to Singapore specifically to speak to a group of people who were interested to know more about his business with 4Life Research a Network Marketing company http://jollytan.com/myincomesystem.html which he has been rather successful with.

Richard mentioned that if he wants to run internet marketing bootcamps and seminars, he can come back anytime to do it. However, for 4Life Research business, it is a trend that will be here to build agressively for a few years before the opportunity before the trend tails off in this region.

Knowing that he is still very passionate about internet marketing business Kiat Wee another internet marketing enthusiast joined me after our meeting at 4Life Research Office. we had supper and coffee till 1.00am that night.

Richard shared with us the ugly side of Internet Marketing. I was shocked to hear of his experiences with people who do not have integrity and are out there to tarnish this industry. It is sad that in every legitimate business, there will be black sheep who will find all means to benefit themselves by exploiting the kindness and ignorance of wannabe internet marketers.

As much as we desire to be successful and make a good living from internet marketing, we need to bear in mind that we have to do it with integrity, honesty, maintaining the good name of this industry. If you know of any fraud cases or bad experiences with internet marketers, I would be happy to have your comments.

Internet marketing in action requires a proper regard for this kind of business whether in Singapore or globally.

Greetings for the New Year 2007!

This is what I plan to do for the New Year….
Stop doing things that are not bringing me any result….or are hindering me from moving forward.
Start doing things which I am passionate about and will see result….especially with a passive income.
Continue with those things which are still bringing result….and Internet Marketing is definitely one of them.

I am definitely not there like those gurus who are reaping great results from the Internet.
However, I know that as long as I am at it and learning new skills, I will get to become very successful in it very soon.

At a recent Wealth Creation BootCamp I attended, about 80% were asking more about internet marketing.
At lunch time, those interested in certain topics like Education, MLM, Property, Investment, Internet Marketing, etc…. were asked to sit at the respective table where the topic were discussed. I was privileged to be asked to host the Internet Marketing Lunch Table. My Table was the first to be fully seated and more coming to me asking me if there were more seats available. I had to turn some away. In fact my table was so hot that being “Kiasu” the participants literally rushed to find my table. This shows how keen the interest of internet business or marketing is among people today.
I can also see that Singaporeans are getting more exposure with all kinds of internet marketing seminars launched in Singapore.

I know that they are just marketing for the trainer….Before you buy the program or bootcamp….please discern well. Because I am just sad that those who attended some internet bootcamps or seminar are telling me that they are getting nowhere…after attending. And if they want to get to somewhere they need to pay another fee of 5 to 10 thousand dollars.....WOW! WOW! WOW!

I would encourage you to find time to attend this PREVIEW…..I think it will be a good preview. ...that is all.
If you want to attend the bootcamp or workshop....
......Please make sure that you ask such questions to the organizer.
Are there any backend sales….? If YES….what are they?
Must we buy them to be super successful in using Adsense?
Can the organizer provide the wireless access and tables to place my laptop during the bootcamp or workshop?
Are extension cords extended to the table so that my laptop is charged at all time to ensure I can follow the trainer online also?
What is the fee and what does it include?
Is there coaching involved….is it part of the package or how much more must I pay?
Who is going to follow up and coach us in Singapore?
What is the coach's track record?
Do not be lured into signing up for it because of HERD mentality….Think carefully before taking action.

I heard from one person who attended the Derek Gehl bootcamp, recently concluded.
He said that the Adsense bootcamp is not coming cheap…. It is 4-figure he said.
I run seminars and market bootcamps….I dislike people being hyped up by the speaker to purchase a program which they thought they would be given all the support needed and left with a big credit card bill. Friends if you are not ready to take on massive action, please do not enter into this Adsense program blindfolded.

Before you start on doing Adsense, you are expected to at least learn how to put up a website or a blog…. My team of trainers are already conducting such courses and it is hands-on, we expect all participants to have a website or blog and we make everyone work the Adsense into their websites immediately during the workshop. We coach people who are willing to take action to first start a website or a blog. Do not think that earning from Adsense is that simple….. if your website or blog is not done properly, not a single soul will come visit your website. Important....... you need to have a website or blog first.

So........BEWARE!!! Think before you ACT!

Internet Marketing Business Secrets Exposed

I am just wondering how many of us really want to know the SECRETS to any kind of business. We all definitely like to learn the shortcuts to any business opportunity. Let me tell you SECRETS do not come cheap....especially Internet Marketing Business Secrets.

There is so much talk in town about previews and "LIVE" demonstration before your eyes how gurus make money within a short one-hour after launching a certain product on the internet. They are really impressive.....BUT......Yes! Yes! Yes! There are a lot of BUTs indeed.

I am just wondering how a foreign guru flies all the way to Singapore and then charge you about $2,000 for a 2 or 3 days internet marketing bootcamp or seminar.... and if the room is filled with 300 people, you will think that he would have made $600,000. Mind you, the advertising cost (easily about $3,000 per advert), the air tickets (usually business or 1st class), expenses in luxurious hotels, the meals, transportation, the expenses for the marketing and sales team, rental of ballrooms for the previews (easily $2,000 per night), fees for the speakers who are doing the previews....if you add them all up... there will not be much left for the promoter and the "guru" to share. That is where the back-end sales come in....through CDs, books, coaching programs...etc....this is where "some" of the secrets are shared with you. In fact the $2,000 is just to get information on what you can do on the internet......the practical is up to you, or whether you are willing to pay more to acquire some mentorship or coaching program, or purchase a ready business model.

I am really afraid that many keen internet marketing wannabes in Singapore would get disillusioned about internet marketing when they realised that the bootcamps were just merely sharing ideas and strategies.... and nothing practical about how to get them start a small web presence. Very sad.... to have people so overwhelmed with information and knowledge but just do not know what is the next step towards internet marketing. Most of the bootcamps will tell you "you do not need to bring your laptops along.....just listen only....we do not want you to get distracted while the guru is talking and sharing".... Please use your ability to discern and decide whether such programs are for you. Do not expect miracles after attending the bootcamps....

I will next talk about..... not to blame others if you have lost some precious savings after attending bootcamps...there is always something to learn from every experience.

Singapore - Internet Marketing Seminars

Internet Marketing Seminars promoted in Singapore do not usually give you a hands-on experience. Most gurus or experts promoting internet marketing in Singapore would not want to spend time to teach you to put up a website. They would likely share with you their strategies, the books they have written, the softwares they carry...and get you to purchase them. 2 to 3 days to let you have a hands on experience.... is just impossible.....totally impossible!

If you have paid for a seminar or bootcamp which does not provide hands on or even wireless access, you are likely to be given a lot of knowledge....yes just knowledge and no practical at all. Many who register for such programs would think that they will be able to get an online business once they complete the 2 to 3 days with the guru. It is UNLIKELY so!

There is always that BACK-END sales of coaching programs which are costly so as to justify the experts spending personal time with you. It is not likely to have a face to face meeting with him, but possible only through teleconferencing or maybe just through skype.

Singaporeans should learn to trust Singaporeans who are present locally and keen internet marketers themselves. Ask around those who are doing some business on the internet, very few will say that they have learnt it from foreigners. They are either coached locally or self-learnt. The foreigners sound promising....but is there an additional price to pay for long distance coaching??? I hope Singaporeans can learn to trust some internet marketing trainers here. They are just as good as the foreigners.

I would recommend the 2 to 3 days bootcamps (that have no hands-on features) to those who are already into internet marketing and are ready to pick up more strategies to enhance their current internet business. It would be good for them to be there to create Joint-Ventures with already successful internet marketers in Singapore.

Internet Marketing is slowly gaining momentum. We have more people interested to leverage the internet to create an income from the comfort of their own home. However, more does not mean many. Very few in Singapore are actually engaged in the internet marketing business.

Monitoring the Singapore scene for the past two over years, internet marketing "gurus" have come and gone. New internet marketing previews are organised by new players in the Singapore market to attract Singaporeans to sign up for the program. These seminars do not come cheap, usually more than a $1000 to $2500. Those who have the money to spend do not mind paying for it, thinking that once they have attended the 2 or 3 days seminars, they will be totally equipped to run an internet marketing business on their own. Sadly....I must say "NO!"

So far I have come across a lot of disillusioned participants (after spending thousands of dollars on courses or seminars) asking how to start, what must I do first to start an internet marketing business. When they are not able to get someone to coach them personally, they give it up totally. WHAT A WASTE! Very few of us are self starters. We actually need a coach, someone to hold our hands to ensure success in this kind of business.

In some of the courses marketed in Singapore, usually the couple of thousands you spend on the course does not cover coaching or a system. You must actually purchase and pay a few more thousands of dollars to the trainer to get into the system to be successful. Before you sign up for an expensive course....please check with the organizers whether you need to pay anything else after the course to become successful in the internet marketing business. Ask more questions before signing up. Do not be caught by those hard-sell tactics of the speakers and sales people.

Adsense Plus Workshop

Most of us who come into the internet marketing arena, have a common goal of making a passive income in such a venture. With SHI as the master trainer, we had a full day workshop on how to work with Adsense and Adwords.

We had a good session of how Adwords work, and had a hand in crafting the Ads to be published to attract traffic to our websites. We published our individuals Ads, and get to monitor how our Ads are doing as it appears in the websites and blogs done by others.

I do not think most of us are able to understand Adsense by just reading articles and ebooks. It was through an experienced person like SHI who has doing it for the past two years, who is able to advise what works and what does not, what are the do's and don'ts. I am glad I do not have to spend 2 years to learn on my own. It took me just a day to learn what he has managed to grasp in the last two years.

This was indeed a real hands-on session, that by the end of the workshop, all the participants were able to strategically use Adsense and Adwords to our advantage. It is again Internet Marketing in Action again.... in this case.... monetizing our websites and blogs. Meeting of Internet Marketing Minds

The gathering of Internet Marketing Enthusiasts from both Richard and Shi's camps was a real enriching time. It was a good size group.

We had breakfast and network, and Shi & Kian Ann shared about Adsense Secrets. Kian Ann has written a report which summarises a particular book which he has read and taken action. This is definitely action.

Richard Quek's plane touched down at about 9.15am and Wendy sent him in to our meeting and it was about the time he was to speak to us. To those who have not met Richard, it was a treat. He gave a good one-hour update of what he has been doing on the internet, the programs he has started and the books he has written the past year. To those who were present, again with his generosity, he rewarded those present with freebies again. I wish more would have turned up.

Richard commended Shi and I for keeping the group going in Singapore, as it is definitely not easy to continue to fan the fire to arouse interest in internet marketing.

Richard Quek Meeting His Graduates

Richard has been busy with other projects and still working on systems and things related to Internet Marketing. He will be in Singapore this Saturday 8 July 2006 to give a talk to his ForLife Network Marketing group. I have especially invited him and asked him to squeeze in some time to meet up with some internet marketing enthusiasts in Singapore. This include some who have attended his TIMM Super Seminar, and some who have attended the SEO Web Design Workshop organised by SHI and me.

For some it will be their first time and privilege to meet with one of Asian's internet marketing guru, Richard Quek. There will be exchange of ideas. Such a meeting is also to provoke more interest among enthusiasts to push on and continue to work on their internet marketing business.

It is through constant contact with those in this arena who are constantly in touch with internet marketing that you begin to sharpen your saw, and make progress and reach your ultimate success in this internet marketing business. One just cannot be a lone ranger out there. Neither can you always be cooped up in the comfort of your home hoping to network and build relationship with keen marketers....both on-line and off-line relationships are important.

For those graduates whom I am associated with, it is good to take time to meet up at this gathering.

Derek Gehl in Singapore

This evening, I attended a 90 minutes talk given by Derek Gehl. 29 year old guy, working under the wings of Corey Rudl (a great internet marketing guru who lost his life last year, in a racing car accident, driven by his friend). He is good!

The websites he showed and the testimonies from those sites and businesses are just great. Very impressive. He has a system. He shared about the same thing every guru will reveal to you, about internet marketing. My own gurus are Richard Quek, and also HC Shi. They learnt from different gurus also. In Richard's 3 day super seminar, he shares what Derek will share at his 2 1/2 seminar in September 2006. Today Richard has stopped his seminar circuits but is still very active in internet marketing business.

Whether it is Armand Morin, Alex Mandossian, Richard Quek, or even Derek Gehl.... what you will learn are some of the following...what to sell, how to automate, payment gateway, autoresponders, search engines, traffic, list building, pop ups, etc...........

The one and only thing you have to do after all the thousands you have spent, is to put them into action. If you are still unable to get into action... Internet Marketing Gurus in Singapore

From March to May 2006, we have seen a number of internet marketing events in Singapore. There was this store-on-line preview with free meals, there was this event by Success Resources, then one by Armand and Alex....then there are the usual previews which we have seen in the Straits Times and local papers now and then.

It is definitely good to learn from different gurus. Each one has his strengths. I picked up some good tips from Store-on-line and also from Armand and Alex. Many have gone to such expensive workshops and bootcamps run by successful gurus. However, many failed to work on what they have learnt.

I have met with friends who have attend quite "costly" seminars on Internet Marketing in Singapore, but they just have not started anything on the internet at all. To me, it is such a waste not to do anything with the knowledge after paying so much to acquire such valuable knowledge and information. Some of them are disillusioned because they are overwhelmed by so much information that they do not know how to begin. Some have already paid so much for a bootcamp and do not think they want to pay anymore for a software to help design their websites....which can actually help to upload scores of webpages into the internet.

SEO-Centred Internet Marketing

My good friend SHI and I have been in discussion about SEO-Centred Internet Marketing sites. The Search Engine is really interesting. My Mentor and guru Richard Quek mentioned before that the Search Engines are like judges, and they will award certain amount of points according to how they like your website's "personality", "Character", "looks", etc.... From there they will rank you as No. 1 or at the bottom of millions of keyword searches. This is really interesting, isn't it?

I believe many are frustrated having websites that are hardly found in the first 3 pages of the major search engines. You work hard in making it attractive, animated, content-loaded, etc.... but no one visits it except for a few good supporters who occasionally will browse when you invite them to do so. Kind of Pathetic????!!!!

Having a website designed with Search Engine Optimization in mind is crucial to the success and effectiveness of a website, be it for information, retail, or whatever. Is Internet Marketing Easy?

This is a good question.

Those who are already getting their hands wet, or maybe fingers wet, have to say that it takes quite a bit of our resources to get it going. To dream of getting an internet business going well, it may take a lot of patience. Internet Marketing Business may look easy. A graduate who has a major in Marketing may not likely be the top Internet Marketing Guru. It is not easy by reading a book and then to do it alone....you need help from those who are already doing it and getting results.

Internet Marketing requires one big resource, and that is TIME.
Do you have the time to see it developed over the a few months?
TIME is one resource.
Next is Creativity, in writing, design, WOW! and I think I better not say too much.
It is going to dampen your spirit if I continue to list them one by one.
Of course you can employ someone to do everything for you....
Then....it will require another resource, and that is MONEY.

However, there is nothing like learning to set up the business on your own with some "coaching".
By doing so, your internet marketing business can be controlled by yourself.
It is like setting up a restaurant.
You better know how to cook and also run the restaurant.
You can add another chef when the business pick up, but you cannot depend on one chef and operate the business at the mercy of this expert chef. If he resigns, there goes your business.

So in Internet Marketing Business, it is better to learn it well from someone....a good coach.
You also decide what to sell, what to upload, when to offer a promotion, how your website should look like, when to revamp your "store" etc...
You are the boss and the Chief Operation Officer and you are in CONTROL.

If you are still at it...do not give up.
Give yourself a bit more time, A little bit more, you will be there!

Internet Marketing Business

Someone asked me if I am making a good income from internet marketing. My answer is that I will be there one day.

You see, to do the internet marketing business is a process. You do not experience an extraordinary income overnight.... it will take time. But you must start NOW! It is just like any other businesses that you do, except that there are some flexibility and discipline involved. In BUSY Singapore, most of us will give an excuse that we do not have the time. It takes time to bring a business to profitability, likewise you will see this in internet marketing.

Internet Marketing business is one business which you can have very low overheads. We are not talking about renting an office which can easily cost you $1000 a month, then you have to hook up some equipment to make it look like an office. Internet marketing involves doing business from the comfort of wherever you may be... even in your living room, or having breakfast at MacDonald's... or sipping a cup of coffee at Starbucks... even when you are overseas you can still work on your internet marketing business. It is so flexible and mobile also.

Even if you are now gainfully employed in a 9 to 5 job, you can also start doing something on internet marketing. Internet Marketing Coaching

How many of you would pay a 4-figure sum like $5000 or so to get yourself coached? I believe we would say it all depends on what..... Internet Marketing coaching can be very costly. It is because if they can get you to do the right things, you are on the way to make an income which will exceed much more than the amount you have paid the coach to coach you to success. However, I am not talking about a large sum like that above... I am talking a small sum to at least get you out of the woods and then let you get your dream of realising an income through internet marketing.

Most people are afraid to be coached. Coaches expect results. A coach helping you with internet marketing is no different. He also expects results from the coachee. With regards to the Internet Marketing in Action workshop, you are to take some preliminary actions prior to attending the Workshop. You will be asked to follow certain instructions... step by step. For those who have already registered, I will be following up with an email to you to take certain actions first, yes..... on internet marketing specifically. There will be a forum set up by Shi and I, to get you moving into some action.

For those who are sitting on the fence, do give me a call. Some have said, "it has been so long since I really did something on the internet... it is rusty already". Yes... it may seem rusty but the knowledge is still in you. Could you allow us to remove that rust and get you going? It will be worth it all, when you attend the workshop.

This is definitely a tough question. I work with a coach to help me get moving with my business. He is a no-nonsense kind of coach. He means what he says and also says what he means. He does not mince his words. He expects the same from me too. It is not easy to work with a coach, if you are not ready to make the change. Internet marketing coach will not be able to help you if you do not want to take the first step to say...."I want to make internet marketing business a reality in my life!".

If you want to work on something and see success in doing it.... come on... you have to move it. Take the first step to engage a coach. SHI and I are providing the opportunity for you to have your own web presence and start making small income also....and gradually it will grow.

I have been reading about life coaching, career coaching, performance coaching, executive coaching, sales coaching...and there are some similarities with internet marketing coaching though they can be somewhat different. We are talking about having yourself a internet web presence and making one pipeline of income from it in due time.

Coaching is about getting the best of you out, and see you flourish in whatever you want to do. It is about helping one person to master his craft. It is about saying it and also doing it to make the change. It is about taking small steps as recommended or committed and see the result you have been looking for. Internet marketing is possible, if you are coached to get it done right.

What I see in some of you is that you already have the knowledge of internet marketing. At this juncture, it is a matter of decision to get that knowledge into action. Are you willing to commit yourself to take good massive action for the betterment of the future. One Philosopher said "The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step". Coaching you to success

Coaching a person who has an interest to do internet marketing takes time. In fact you need a coach who is patient and understanding. Someone wrote me to ask for a good coach, I told him that usually they charge an arm and a leg.... I mean it is not cheap. Talking about Life Coaching, a coach can easily charge something like US$300 per hour... and the really famous ones charge a big big figure. And they can do it through telephone conferencing at that figure.... face to face may be more.

A friend asked me to look at her blog and give comments for improvement. It took me a long while to put in some comments and instructions... and I could add more and more comments, but certain things just cannot be conveyed through written instructions. You need to be present with the coach to see what is really happening on the screen itself. I say this for internet marketing.

Some coachees are really good and can handle step by step instructions rather well... but most are not able to. To ensure that instructions are carried out with the least frustrations and get things set and uploaded within the shortest time, the coachee needs to meet up with the coach and get everything in place. Here is a person who is all fired up to want to do something online, and a simple instruction not understood well enough and cannot be executed properly......... can actually dampen that spirit of starting an internet marketing business.

Traffic Is Crucial In Internet Marketing

I have been monitoring the result of Yahoo! search for key words like "Internet Marketing in Action" - this has become No. 1 on Yahoo among some 15 million sites. Other searches based on words like "Internet Marketing in Singapore" etc... I am seeing site moving up the ranks. As it moves up, I can see that it is getting some visitors to the site. It is increasing daily.

How does Yahoo! search engine works? I believe there are steps which need to be taken to see the move up the rank in search engines. Internet Marketing is about traffic. Unless you conscientiously do your part in placing the right links, words, and put some effort into doing it... you may not see your site ranked well and traffic converging into your site.

I have also got a statscounter attached to my site. Steadily the number of hits is increasing from the day the statscounter was turned on. This shows that with people searching for those crucial keywords, and if you are among the top, it is very likely your site will be visited.

I believe those who are reading this would be interested to know that this know-how on internet marketing will be shared with you. Keep visiting this site. An Infant - Internet Marketing In Singapore

SHI just wrote me and asked me to continue to post a blog each day. Hey! It takes quite a bit of commitment to do it. It also requires a good bit of patience as you sit and think of what to write... never to rush through it.

In Singapore, most of us are so used to the fast paced life here. Whatever we want, we want to get it quick. If we think that money is no problem... we will pay to get it quicker. However, in internet marketing, please have this word imprinted in your mind "PATIENCE". SHI just wrote to say that it may take 1, 2 or maybe 6 months or maybe more, for my site to rank well in Googles. Wow! that long... but well.... I have to work at it.... and patiently wait.

Soon after it gets ranked well... hopefully NO. 1.... then it goes through the process of being a popular site... and that is where TRAFFIC will grow. I am not just thinking of traffic from internet marketing enthusiasts in Singapore alone, I believe it will come from every corner of the world also.

SHI wrote "Once the traffic grows, money flows". How true indeed! I have come across many people asking me..."Have you made a good income from Internet Marketing?". It is truly embarrassing when I have to say "No". The next question is "Then do you know of anyone in Singapore who is receiving an inome through Internet Marketing?". I will share with them a few names. However, one day... YES! ONE DAY...when someone ask me such questions... I believe I will be there to say with pride that I have made a good income from Internet Marketing.

Internet Marketing in Singapore is still in its infancy stage here. I believe if you change your mindset and start thinking of Internet Marketing again, you will be one of those rare jewels in Singapore.

Top 10 Ranking - Internet Marketing in Singapore

This morning I was up 5.30am... then saw my children off to school. My internet access was on then... THEN! SHI wrote me and said "YOUR BLOG RANKED TOP 10 IN YAHOO!". What a shocking surprise. How can that be? I just cannot believe but it is there... and I hope it is still there when you make a search for it today. This is outrageously ridiculous, I thought. Evidence on the search proves it all. SHI! THANK YOU!

YAHOO! Search.... Singapore Internet Marketing (6), Internet Marketing Singapore (7) and.... Internet Marketing in Singapore is NO. 2..... among 4,000,000 sites with those keywords. As long as the search engine does not change its criteria for search and ranking, it should be there for a while.

You know what? It took only about 4 days to reach there.... instead of the 2 weeks SHI told me. Isn't this ridiculous? But it is possible. TIMM eCommunity, we are going to work with you on this. Internet Marketing can be done from Singapore and with you in mind also.
